She holds an undergraduate degree in Information Systems, Business, and Accounting and has further advanced her expertise through postgraduate studies in Management Practice and Values-Based Leadership—an area she is deeply passionate about.

A committed advocate for leadership development, Ithra is an active alumna of the University of Cape Town (UCT) and its Graduate School of Business (GSB), where she serves as a mentor, guiding emerging leaders toward success. Her dedication to empowering women in leadership has also led her to become a part of the prestigious HERS-SA program, where she continues to mentor and inspire young female leaders.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions and leadership potential, Ithra has been selected to participate in the esteemed Oxford Women’s Leadership Programme, an opportunity she keenly integrates into her work at the African Centre for Cities (ACC).

With over 22 years of experience in the tertiary sector, specializing in research finance and operations, she has been a valued member of the ACC since 2010, contributing significantly to its growth and impact.
