Bio
Kanyisile Brukwe is a Junior Research Fellow working on the If Cities Could Speak and CLAIMS to Energy Citizenship projects. She is an applied social researcher and project lead with extensive experience working across complex community, governance, and risk environments. Her work sits at the intersection of research, implementation, and stakeholder engagement, with a strong focus on community-based and participatory approaches. She has led and contributed to interdisciplinary projects spanning fire risk reduction, sanitation governance, digital public services, and urban vulnerability, working with NGOs, universities, and community organisations. Kanyisile brings advanced qualitative research expertise, strong project and people management skills, and a systems-oriented lens to translating lived experience into evidence that informs decision-making, programme design, and practice across sectors.
