The University of Cape Town hosts the International Summit on the SDGs in Africa from 13 to 15 September 2021 (postponed from April 2020 due to COVID-19).
The summit, which is the first of its kind, will bring together leading thinkers and influencers in this space, including from three global university networks in which UCT actively participates and which comprise 43 member universities. Summit participants will grapple with the challenges at hand, and work on developing innovative collaborations that will contribute to accelerating the pace and scale of achieving the SDGs in Africa by 2030.
While led by the academic sector, the event seeks to mobilise meaningful and lasting partnerships across diverse sectors including government, business and civil society, during and beyond the summit.
ACC Director Edgar Pieterse is co-chair of the Summit along with DVC Research and Internationalisation: Professor Sue Harrison.
