Bio
Archimedes Muzenda is a PhD candidate and researcher at the African Centre for Cities (ACC), University of Cape Town under the Smartness as Wealth project funded by the Volkswagen Foundation. In his doctoral work, he explores the inclusion and speculations of digital platforms innovations in the FinTech landscape of Nairobi. Prior to joining the ACC, Archimedes worked as a researcher at the Glensburg Cities Institute and as a fellow at the Brenthurst Foundation where he engaged in various projects that explored strategies for urban transformation in cities across Africa.
He has published his work in various formats and key among his publications includes, Dystopia: How the Tyranny of Specialists Fragment African Cities (African Urban Institute Press, 2019).
Archimedes graduated with a BSc in Regional and Urban Planning from the University of Zimbabwe, and a Master of Public Administration from Central European University.
