Bio

Kgomotso Phetlhu serves as the AMALI Communications Officer at the African Centre for Cities. Her proficiency spans strategic writing and editing, design, marketing execution, data-driven research and reporting, project management, team leadership, and stakeholder engagement. Her dedication to excellence, strong interpersonal skills, and collaborative nature have led to her success in creating impactful communication strategies that align seamlessly with organizational objectives.

Before AMALI, she spent over a decade predicting consumer trends and shaping brand strategy at Submarine Depth Research, Futures Company – Kantar. As the previous founder of Voiceboxes, she led teams, identified business opportunities, and cultivated strong client relationships. Her love for working with marginalised communities through performance art earned her an invitation to a TEDx performance talk. Her involvement in township wellness and environmental projects make her an invaluable addition to the AMALI family.

Kgomotso holds a qualification in Public Relations from the University of Johannesburg and has honed her skills through additional certifications in entrepreneurship, design, and UX research.
